Tail Walking Pike

How do you play a large pike when it is tail walking....Do you give it line or keep it tight........

This is a good way to see how a pike reacts to a spinner/dead bait (turn your sound down first though!)

Does anyone know if there is a website for the above venue....I have just seen it on Go Fishing and it has a specialised Predator pond....Just outside Peterborough.....Or has anyone fished it..........

I normally target perch and i have not done to bad so far this year although i have not been fishing alot of late,just wandering how you guys have got on with the predators so far this year,i have heard that the pike and zander have been realy doing well so far

Went today had five fish with this one below the biggest at 16lb 14oz and averaged over ten pound per fish. A pretty good day.

a daft question

i have got a spinning reel and was thinking about taking to the river bank with me one day.
what i want to ask is there any type of lure that would work well.
also do i need for the weather to be warmer before i use my spinning rod.

last season i caught a pike of about 5 and a half pounds. but i was fishing for roach at the time and i had 2 pound line and a size 16 hook it took about 15 to 20 mins to get in

Mine is 18lb 10oz caught on joey mackerel fished under a float on the river bure at horning.

Went today it was a bit of a last minute decision to go, had two runs pulled out of one and then had this one which weighed in at 14lb 12oz. Well pleased with the last day of the year.

Do you pike anglers use a glove when unhooking your catch? personal i do but ive seen alot of top professional pike anglers just hand them out without one.

I'm hoping to go pike fishing for the first time this winter but not sure where to start.
I don't really want to use live/dead bait, much prefering spinners/lures. So I have a couple of questions for the piking experts in the group.

First, which spinners/lures work best on the rivers, Severn, Teme and Lugg and where on these rivers is the best piking to be had. Also, I'm not sure how much difference there is between carp and pike rods, but I intend to ude the same...
