			<description><![CDATA[ There was a full house of 31 anglers on Match Lake 2 for Sunday&#39;s Match

and with the carp and silver fish spawning it was a struggle for some.

Those on the windward bank 43 to 57 seemed to fair best and the top 5

weights came from there.  Joe Lari had a lot of fish in the reeds down his
<br>
margin into the corner to win the match with mostly carp for 66lb 10oz.

Every one of the 21 anglers present wanted to draw a favoured end peg ie 43, 57, 58 and 73. In fact 3 of those produced fish, especially 43 where the winner
came from but 73 which was also a &#39;Golden Peg&#39; never had a bite. In general M2 fished fairly poorly and perhaps the surprises were that fish could not
be caught up in the water although they could be seen cruising about and that Colin Provins fished a great match from peg 52 to come 2nd overall. Results... ]]></description>

details of the match but as I understand it, the fish were mostly down the margins and those who fished the pole did better than those on the feeder. Darren

Fished peg 39.
<br>
Wind gusting from right to left causing a ripple on the water and quite a major tow under the surface.
<br>
I fished 3 lines. One at 11 meters ranging from dead depth to 1 foot below the surface with maggot and castor.
<br>
The others were 6 meters at dead depth just on the bottom of the shelf with paste, pellet and corn and a margin swim.

			<description><![CDATA[ i went pleasure fishing on thursday, following some of your expert advice, i dyed my meat with black food colouring. 2 hours in and i hadn&#39;t had a bite
while others around me where catching well. i went for a walk around the lake to see what baits others were using. most were using RED meat. returning to my
peg i tried to wash the dye off my meat but to no avail. do you know of anything that removes black dye ? or a very strong red dye that would go over the

			<description><![CDATA[ Well it was a match that those who had pleasure fished and caught a lot of fish during the week were really looking forward to.  However, cold easterly winds
put paid to the big weights that were expected and the match became one of the hardest of the winter on M1.  Aaron Coleman celebrated yesterday&#39;s birthday
by winning the match £95 and the Golden Peg (worth £400) from peg 5.  The rest of the 16 man field really struggled to catch a few fish.  There is still one
golden peg of £400... ]]></description>

peg 43 produced the winner, Bob Fuller, and peg 73 opposite was third.

1st Bob Fuller, Viscount Tackle, switching between the feeder and the pole

caught mostly carp on corn  and maggot from peg 43 with 61lb 4oz 2nd Bob

Wessels, Dynamite Baits, fishing corn on the long pole from peg 70 weighed

Strong, gusty northerly winds affected presentation on the pole but those

who coped with it caught most of their fish on the pole.  However after a

few warm days last week the water temperature was around the 10 degree

mark even though the air temperature never got above 8.5 degrees it didn&#39;t

have too much affect on the fishing.

i will post more dates/ costs /and times when i get them.  the matches will be held at bradshaw fishery bolton lancs and is going to run as a annual event for
our younger anglers . thanks to lester for some great help in setting this up !!

OK I have drawn next to Alan Scotthorne on a few matches, and beaten him! He is a 5 times world champion!

All that says to me is that match fishing is a lottery, ( but I am also good..lol)

If you fish matches, you can only catch the fish in front of you? ( so the experts say)
