Anyone use VDE High Marine Expander Pellets? or any other flavour in these pellets if so which colour as High marine pellets are light and dark, also anyone like Ringers? i LOVE these!

Sprinkle a little Colemans ( of Norwich... hence Karen) Mustard powder onto maggots.. or add a small amount into your paste mixes. ;) Another tip off the match scene for ya.

flavouring meat

right you lot help needed by me i am going to a lake tomorrow and i have told meat is on the top of the list for bait.
2 questions first which is the best to use and do you add flavoring
second how do you attach it. i.e straight on the hock or hair rigged
i have been told the meat need to be about 10 mill cubed

one of our local tackle shops is stocking with the new sonu baits gear pellet and paste pellets ,1 95 a tub included in the tub is a free baiting needle and two ready made hair rigs , cant be bad value for money at that , gonna try them out on sunday at knock up ,if there any good i will let you know . bk

This is new to me maybe not to you lot but what you think of this bait then just add some sherbet dip to your mix or anything that causes your mix to fizz break up some alka seltzer tablets and add that to it to create a fizzy mix by all accounts it is great with carp,may be they have upset stomachs

Dog Food

Going on from Lesters Cat Food thread I have been trialing some dog food to see how it works.

The stuff I am using comes from Asda and is the type in the sausage shape tubes.
It is really soft and has a high water content. A hook will pull through with no problem at all and it mounts OK on a hair rig. The only down side is it won't handle a full blown cast so it is best for margin or close in work.
Left in water it totally breaks down after 24hrs.

Hiya all.
Many moons ago I never had any trouble colouring corn using dry corn and powdered dyes from the carp side of life.
I have since tried using liquid dyes, mainly from the supermarket, and seems hard to get the bait really coloured? I have tried warming the corn, drying it while warm then dying it but seems hit and miss.
How do you match and speci lads do it please???

I use a lot of wheat when i'm fishing. Its brilliant for good quality Roach on rivers. It cost about £4 for a 25kg bag from most pet shops.
To prepare it is easy just half fill a bucket with wheat and add boiling water so it covers the wheat by about3 inches put a lid on and leave overnight and next morning its ready to use. Does anyone know of a company that sells curried corn?

Van Den Eynde used to sell it, I found 2 tins in a Lathams tackle shop the other week, but they won't last me very long.

I have had some superb results on Van Den Eynde curried corn when all else has failed, I have tried flavouring my own corn with curry powder but it does seem to be as good

How do you make cheese paste anyone have any good recipes? i fancy doing some chubbing over the next few weeks and wanted to give it ago, it will need to be fairly stiff to withstand the flow whch if quite strong on my local river wensum, is it better to mould around the hook or somehow hair rig it?
