(unquote) Interesting letter that,the start of your letter Mr Chapman(not quoted)you say you were amazed to find that the licence had gone up by £4.50p i just wonder if this increase is the real reason for your stand on this point. We all have our own feelings on the poaching issue but very few will see this stand as being acceptable Mr Chapman,you are stating you are going to brake the law and run the risk of being caught,what example is that setting to the youngsters of today i wonder,there is Never a valid reason to brake the law like it or not,if we all took this stand then fishing as we know it would die a death sorry but i think your well out of order on this issue. Because to the best of my knowledge it only went up by 50p Yes I see his point, why should we pay to re-stock waters that fish have been stolen from.................. HOWEVER........Our licence fee's do not go to just re-stock because "people" steal the fish...licence fees cover a wide range of issues....and if the last time he bought a licence was a good few yrs back then he needs to get his head out of his a$$ and wake up...............Herons eat the fish, otters eat the fish, pollution kills the fish, outboard motors kills the fish...............so if everyone decided not to buy a licence what state would the waters be in??? Posts: 1254 13-May-2008 22:33	Anyone can write in if they have a point to make ,be it good or bad ,and to be honest ,i can see this letter getting a few responses ,good and bad ,it sells papers mate , thats the nature of the beast ,and believe me ,i bet there are others out there who will say the same , its not the way imo to go about things , there should be laws to stop poaching , and i think we all know that it does go on ,the changes in the law is the way forward ,but the drawback is ,it will no doubt take a long time ,to come to fruition ,, the debate rolls on mate ,,,,jeff KAZ the gone up by £4.50 is the disabled licence ,a price hike of over 30% and there are people moaning about it , as the ordinary rod licence went up by 50 p .. and some are saying that the oap or disabled are now being targeted ,and are not to happy , . this increase according to the angling press couls generate over 600.0000 pounds ,which is a large chunk of money ,,. The issue is a valid one of that there is no dought but it is the way he intends to handle the point that is wrong in my opinion after all if he fishes without a license want that make him a poacher as well,think about it,a classic case of,if you can't beat them join them. Sorry but this kind of stand can not be right,lobby the EA or your local MP thats the way forward even if it takes years we have to stay within the laws.
