We went to a little venue yesterday, John mentioned it in another thread, "Golden Ponds" in Sutton...A beautifull little place full of all sorts of goodies
Think John had already decided what pegs we would fish from on our last walk about there...And what a cracking sopt we had...The fish were topping, splashing and blowing me kisses (well thats what it sounded like pmsl) - But very hungry it seemed!!
Set up and away we went, me on the rod and reel and John just dipping in on a top 3...It's only about a foot to 2 ft deep so fishied more than shallow as thats where the fish were...Makes sense huh! lmao
within minutes John pulled out a little thing.....not sure what it was, I was to busy watching my float go under, no little thing for me...I landed me very 1st carp!! Not huge, don't think it was over a lb, but a new PB all the same, which soon became apparant that would get beaten!!
John landed a few Carp, Tench, Brown Goldfish and an Orange Goldfish, and a beautifull what looked like a brown Goldfish cross, with a fantastic fan tail! After changing to te pole on Sweetcorn, pellet and loose feeding micros.....He ran out of micros and loose fed Hemp...BIG MISTAKE, he was plagued with Rudd after that...beless em! lol
I had Carp after Carp my biggest was about 2lb WooHooooooooo
followed
by the fattest brighest Orange Goldfish I have seen, 3 Rudd followed and a couple of F1's, I had lunchun meat on the hook (only 1 Rudd liked my
sweetcorn!!) loose fed micro too
Lost 2 bigger fish ( Honest!! lmfao) 1 snagged me good and propper in a tree and the other fort like a good un, caught me unawheres as I didn't have a clue what way he was going next (think the fish knew that too!!) managed to play it to the margins and Whoooshhhhhhh he bumped the hook!! GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr aching shoulders for nothing lmao
John also caught a few specimen branches after the fish bumped his hook but he didn't do a good job playing that branch, he couldn't land it for love nor money, so gave up and unhokked it manully pmsl
A good day.......lost count how many fish were caught but a good bag for both of us....got home and thats when the trouble started........My arms and shoulders were started to resemble a lobster...By 7pm I couldn't move my arms, half a bottle of aftersun later I was looking more like a beacon! by 11 I was in total agony, ice bags came out that were melting faster than you could freeze them...OUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
So if ya out in the next few day please remember SUN CREAM....it was blasted typical that the only day in nearly 38 yrs the weather forecast was correct!!!!! It done exactly what it said on the tin.................HOT!! NO CLOUD!!!!!!
