i was shocked with all the nice weather 25oC + we have been getting over the last
2 weeks or so, anyway on to the fishing.
He had saved me a peg accros from the island that i could just reach with my Yank 'n' Bank pole, so i setup and i catapulted 5 pouch fulls of mixed pellets all course pellets and a few halibut in with them for flavour, i plummed up before hand and was fishing heavy as i knew there were big carp about here, carp were topping all morning splashing and taking flies, so i put a Ringers pellet 6mm on a 14 Kamasan Animal hook, dropped it in and bang! a carp first put in it zoomed off towards the bridge i put my pole tip under the water and it came off! gutted
it was fouled hooked as i came away with a scale it was as big as a 50 pence
piece
. So i put back into the island swim and i hit again a little roach
came to the net just under a pound nice fish, and again this time a tench i had about 3 tench throughout the day.
So i rested the island swim, but i kept the feed going in, i was also feeding a margin swim to my right which was alive so i dropped in and straight away a carp on pellet, about 4lb nice fish but my god did it scrap, anyway a guy came sat next to me and i got talking about things, and he was off to Ireland sea fishing and bream fishing lucky!
anyway he was having carp about 5
meters out on pellet and meat. Meanwhile my uncle a few pegs down was fishing paste and was having bream after bream then a few carp about 4lb showed up, so i
continued to fish on and the guy next to me had 2 carp again i asked what elastic he had in a 6!! i said you need to step it up in here and he kept on getting
snapped, so he got another top kit out with a 8 Preston in
but he did
land a few, he went then when he got snapped and his float smashed he had enough and he gave me his meat so i started fishing this in the margin got destroyed
by the roach the meat did i was striking at nothing, so i put a golf ball size on and i hit a carp about 8lb chunky common nice fish think it was full of spawn
so i slipped her back to get on with it.
So i went to my uncle to see
how he was getting on he was having carp on the surface on floating bread all day just hearing the slurp and then the line tighten up on his pole, his biggest
fish of the day was 9lb, but we could see bigger ones crusing but weren't bothered, so i went back to my peg at this point the rain came from 12pm til 4pm
it never stopped the slow drizzle
, so all day was catching fish, the
end of the day we decided to pack up at 5pm by now i had 43 Carp on spam and my uncle had 53 on bread from the surface so a good day despite the weather being
cold and raining.
