A long awaited trip out today, first in almost a year i think.
Onboard were Daz, Dave and myself, we set off at around 12midday, the sea was relatively flat , we went out to about a mile offshore,
There was a good few boats out in the local vacinity, ranging from the small to the charter boats.
Daz was the first to haul in, a tommy codling, that was an hours drifting.
Dave was on the radio asking his mates if anything had been doing, !!!
Any way we upped and moved, BINGO, the mackeral were there, Dave was soon hauling them up, one, then two then a string, full house, LoL, Daz was not far behind him, ME LoL nothing, so i changed fromport to starboard side, that done it, i started to pull them in.
In the next hour the sea state changed, from a reletively flat sea to a sea of waves about 3 to 4 feet, the wind also picked up more sped, we were drifting at a good rate of knots, i was hazard a guess and say we drifted about a half mile in 10 or 15 minute.s !!!.
The waves were splashing over the gunnels of the boat, accoationally soaking Daz and myself LoL. The wind continued to pick up speed so it was decided to
head for port, straight into the head wind , hard going, but we made it safe.
We landed about 30 or so mackeral in the 2 hours we were at sea.
Great fun an a Sunday afternoon.
Thanks Dave, thanks Daz, until the next time.
PS No pictures, never took the camera out
